The running routes pass through the inner-city streets and famous heritage sites in Hue, bringing many new experiences to domestic and international runners. In which, on the 5-kilometer running track, runners conquered the route along both banks of the Huong River, enjoyed the beauty of Hue in the early morning on the two bridges of Da Vien and Truong Tien. On the 10-kilometer running track, they ran across Truong Tien Bridge, Vy Da Village and discovered the beauty of Hen Islet; felt the ancient features of Chi Lang ancient town and experienced the final journey on the heritage streets of Hue Imperial City.

On the 21-kilometer running track, almost half of the first track is along the 10-kilometer running track, runners continued the journey on the heritage streets of the inner-city, followed the suburban streets of the North of Hue City, and finished the running track. The starting and finishing points of the three subcategories, including the 5-kilometer, 10-kilometer, and 21-kilometer running tracks, are at the Phu Van Lau area (on Le Duan Street). The total prize value of the running race is more than VND 300 million.
The running race is held for the first time in Hue City, with the aims to contribute to stimulating tourism as well as promoting the images of the people and landscapes of Hue Ancient Capital to international friends; thereby promoting the development of the local economy.
The Organizing Committee of Hue Half Marathon 2023 said that it had coordinated with the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) to measure the subcategories of 5 km, 10 km, and 21 km of the tournament. The AIMS has certified qualified subcategories. Athletes participating in Hue Half Marathon 2023 can use this result as part of the eligibility criteria to participate in prestigious Half Marathons around the world.
