The event is also a meeting place for cultural exchange with many musical performances, and ao dai performances by 30 Vietnamese expatriates, with the presence of Miss Intercontinental Vietnam Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc and Miss Intercontinental Malaysia Lindsey Yap. The two beauty queens also performed a joint dance performance, showing the harmony and cultural beauty of the two countries.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the event, Ms. Tran Thi Chang, President of the Malaysia - Vietnam Friendship Association, thanked the support, orientation and patronage of the Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia, and expressed her wish for the solidarity of Vietnamese community in Malaysia. She also expressed her hope that the Association would be a reliable support for the Vietnamese community in Malaysia.

On behalf of the Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia, Mr. Nguyen Ba Tan, First Secretary, affirmed that the Party and State always care about overseas Vietnamese and overseas Vietnamese communities, considering Vietnamese community as an integral part and an resource of Vietnamese ethnic community, an important factor contributing to strengthening the cooperative and friendly relations between the two countries. Mr. Nguyen Ba Tan highly appreciated the Association's initiatives to organize activities so as to connect overseas Vietnamese, thereby building a united community, looking towards the homeland, contributing to promoting cultural exchanges and people-to-people diplomacy between the two countries.

On behalf of the Association's Advisory Board, Mr. Hambli Mukhlas highly appreciated the Association's cultural exchange and connection activities; he also said that through the practical activities, the Association would grow stronger and stronger, and strengthen the friendship between the two countries.

From the first day of opening, the Vietnamese cuisine booth, with various dishes such as banh mi, bun cha, spring rolls, coffee, black sticky rice yogurt, and some typical tropical fruit juices, etc., has attracted the attention of hundreds of expatriates in Malaysia, as well as international friends.

As part of a series of activities celebrating the 50th founding anniversary of Vietnam – Malaysia diplomatic ties, and the first anniversary of the establishment of the Malaysia - Vietnam Friendship Association, the Association's activities once again demonstrate the desire to explore the culture between Malaysia and Vietnam, and further tighten the good friendship between the two countries.

The “Taste of Sambal” (a famous Malaysian sauce) is Malaysia's annual culinary festival, aiming to introduce hundreds of Malaysian sauces, as well as demonstrating the cultural diversity and the rich cuisine of this Southeast Asian country. The festival attracts the attention of many good chefs and culinary experts from many countries around the world.
