In recent years, Thua Thien Hue province has focused on directing and promoting the application of information technology to build e-government, towards developing smart urban areas and providing utility services to serve the needs of people and businesses.
Since 2018, the Provincial People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue has approved the Project "Developing smart city services in the province to 2020 with an orientation to 2025", with the goal of improving the quality of life of people, streamlining urban management, effective environmental protection, improving competitiveness, fast and convenient public services, enhancing security, social order and safety and crime prevention and control violation.
In 2018, Thua Thien Hue determined to build a super application on the mobile platform to meet the requirements of digital transformation on all three main aspects: digital government, digital economy, and digital society. In 2019, Hue-S was launched with the orientation of being a digital platform on a unified mobile application to serve the digital community in the province.
Up to now, Hue-S has over 50 functions and more than 20 services, attracting more than 10 large businesses and corporations to participate in integrating into Hue-S to provide convenient services for people, businesses, and state agencies. Hue-S also connects locals of Thua Thien Hue who work far away domestically and internationally in more than 15 countries. To date, this application has over 860,000 people registered accounts.
According to Mr. Nguyen Duong Anh - Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications, Deputy Head of the Competition Organizing Committee, with the goal of ensuring the interests and rights of people and businesses, Hue-S has successfully deployed many convenient support services for people in many fields such as scene reports, warning notifications, traffic situations, education and training, online payment, etc.
Hue-S has been aiming for the goal according to Resolution 12-NQ/TU dated November 12, 2021, of the Provincial Party Committee on "Digital transformation of Thua Thien Hue province to 2025, with orientation to 2030" that in 2025, “Building Hue-S into a popular platform in connecting the digital social ecosystem of Thua Thien Hue province.

“This is the first year that the online contest to learn about the Hue-S digital platform is held. We hope that through the contest, it will contribute to popularizing, propagating and increasing the level of access to the Hue-S platform for officials, civil servants, and people in the province about the meaning and importance of the Hue-S platform. At the same time, they could realize the benefits of smart city services, and can proficiently use the Hue-S digital platform to enjoy a better life through using digital services that meet essential needs, such as accessing to official information, public services, health care, education, transportation, culture, etc., contributing to promoting the development of local digital society and digital economy," Mr. Duong Anh said.
At the launching ceremony of the contest, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh said that with the steps on the path of implementing digital society along with the Government's general roadmap, Thua Thien Hue province has had positive results, creating effects in building digital government, digital economy, and digital society. The province has focused on directing and promoting information technology applications to build e-government, towards developing smart city areas and providing utility services to serve people and businesses.
“Each officer and civil servant must truly promote a sense of responsibility, actively respond, and participate in the contest with the highest spirit. Through the knowledge from the contest, they could apply it to practical work, promoting the process of perfecting the province's e-government and digital society," said Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Binh.
