The program announcing Hue Festival 2024 and the first festival of the year - the reenactment of the Ban Soc ceremony (Calendar Distribution ceremony) under the Nguyen Dynasty is scheduled to be organized by the organization board of Hue Festival and Hue Monuments Conservation Center on the morning of January 1st 2024, at Ngo Mon Square.
Because Hue International Arts Festival, as a biennial event, is held in 2024, it is considered an important highlight in the series of activities taking place during the year.
With the theme "Cultural heritage with integration and development", Hue Festival 2024 will include consecutive activities taking place throughout the year. The event aims to honor and promote the unique values of Vietnamese culture in general and Hue culture in particular.
The Hue Festival 2024 begins with the Spring Festival themed "Spring in the Ancient Capital'' (from January to March). The event includes royal festivals, traditional and typical folk festivals. Among them, the Ban Soc ceremony (Calendar Distribution ceremony) is an ancient, unique, and cultural feature under the Nguyen Dynasty. Periodically, at the end of the lunar year, the court would distribute calendars to people to help them clearly understand the weather so that they could cultivate crops and prevent natural disasters.
