One of the charming ancient garden houses in Phuoc Tich village with its beautiful traditional architecture.

Information from the Provincial People's Committee on January 12th reveals the approval of the "Policy to support, protect, and promote values of distinctive garden houses in Thua Thien Hue Province” project.

Among the 40 registered garden houses, there are houses from Hue City and 31 houses from Phuoc Tich Ancient Village (Phong Hoa commune, Phong Dien district).

According to statistics, the province currently has over 120 garden houses with historical and cultural value. Over time, many of these houses have deteriorated significantly and no longer retain their original state. Several have undergone changes in area, demolition, and reconstruction.

This project, which runs from 2023 to 2026, not only helps preserve the core values of Hue's culture but also leverages them as a distinct cultural asset. It assists the owners of these houses in developing service businesses, creating livelihoods and revenue from the garden houses, developing linked and concentrated services and tourism, as well as community tourism development.

Furthermore, the project contributes to laying the foundation for building and developing Thua Thien Hue into a centrally-governed municipality with a focus on heritage, ecology, and environmentally friendly landscapes, in line with Resolution 54 of the Politburo.
