100 gift packages, including rice, instance noodles, and cash (worth around 550.000 VND per package) were personally handed over to local people by Venerable Thich Nguyen Thanh – Deputy Head of the Executive Committee and Head of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Thua Thien Hue Province, Abbot of Thien Huong Pagoda, together with the sponsors on the occasion of Lunar New Year of 2024.
At the gift-giving event, Venerable Thich Nguyen Thanh also inquired about people’s health and extended warm wishes to local people for a joyful, warm, and happy Tet Holiday. With these gifts, they hoped to share with locals, contributing to fulfilling the spring for the community.
Many people expressed their joy and gratitude to receive meaningful gifts when the Lunar New Year is coming so close. Ms. Duong Thi Dao (33 years old, a lottery ticket seller) shared that she was cheerful to receive the gift from Venerable Thich Nguyen Thanh and the sponsors. “To me, this gift is not only meaningful in material terms but it also valuable in spirit as it shows the continuous care and attention from organizations in general and from the pagoda in particular on every Tet occasion,” shared Ms. Dao.
The total budget for this Tet gift-giving event is around 55 million VND.
Also on February 5, the organization Phuc’s Fond coordinated with local authorities to hold a program called “Spring of Love in 2024” in Thuong Quang and Thuong Long communes (Nam Dong district).

On this occasion, the program provided 70 gift packages including cash and essential items to disadvantaged individuals in the local area, with each package cost at 1 million VND.
According to the representative of Phuc’s Fond organization, this is an annual activity to support disadvantaged people such as poor households, near-poor households, and especially difficult families in the provincial area. The activity aims to join hands with local authorities to bring more joy to the people during the Tet holiday.
