The ceremony of lowering Neu tree, royal seal opening and calligraphy giving took place to celebrate the new Spring on February 16th, at Trieu Mieu Temple and The Mieu Temple in Hue Imperial Palace.
Under the ancient Nguyen Dynasty, the ceremony of lowering Neu tree was performed to mark the end of the Tet holiday and the normal life of work resumed. The ceremony included various parts, such as Neu tree worshiping, ceremonial music and lowering Neu tree. Previously, the tree was erected on February 2nd in the front yard of The Mieu Temple and Trieu Mieu Temple at the Neu tree Erection ceremony.
Following this ceremony was the seal opening ceremony held to celebrate a working year of the ancient central bureaus, hoping for new success, peace, and prosperity.
Calligraphy was also given to visitors. Each work sent wholesome messages, wishes for happiness, peace, good things and luck to come to everyone in the new year.
