Representatives from the hotels commit to the action plan to reduce plastic waste

The mentioned hotels committed to implementing many actions to reduce plastics and continuing to maintain green practices such as reducing the use/replacing/recycling of single-use plastic items, and increasing the use of environmentally friendly materials, so as to reduce the amount of waste. The hotels also develop regulations on saving resources, classifying waste at source, and increasing dissemination to employees, suppliers, partners, and customers through meetings, media events, and community campaigns, etc., aiming to raise the awareness and practice reducing plastic use, as well as classifying waste at source.

These hotels not only aim to raise the awareness and practice reducing plastic waste among their managers and employees, but also send a strong message to customers and the community, calling for the cooperation in reducing plastic waste, contributing to maintaining the image of Hue as an ASEAN clean tourist city, and aiming to build Hue as a city to reduce plastics in Central Vietnam.

The project “Hue - A City to Reduce Plastics in Central Vietnam” is built from the funding of the WWF-Norway (through WWF-Vietnam) and received by Hue City People's Committee. It aims to support the city in protecting rivers, and the wetland and coastal ecosystems from pollution by plastic waste, through a series of interventions with the participation of relevant stakeholders, including public and private sectors, civil society organizations and local communities, with the goal of reducing plastic waste loss by 30% by 2024. This project has been being implemented over four years (from 2021 to 2024), and divided into two phases, which are the project launch phase (in 2021), and the implementation phase (from 2022 to 2024).
