From Thua Thien Hue province, Provincial Party Committee Secretary Le Truong Luu; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong, along with leaders of departments and sectors, also attended.

Hue Central Hospital is Vietnam's first Western medicine hospital. Over 130 years of development, it has become a special-grade hospital with 3 facilities, with a scale of over 5,000 beds and more than 4,100 staff. Every year, the unit receives nearly 1 million patients for examination, treatment, and surgery, both domestically and internationally.

The hospital has implemented many new techniques, especially organ transplants with over 1,800 cases (including many cases of cross-Vietnam organ transplants). The hospital has been selected by the Government and the Ministry of Health as one of the 5 special-grade hospitals to be upgraded in planning, becoming a hospital of international standard.

Hue Central International Hospital, inaugurated in 2014, is the first internationally standardized medical facility in Vietnam among public hospitals with 300 standard international beds, creating a new model in healthcare examination and treatment, a successful public investment model in the healthcare sector. Annually, Hue Central International Hospital attracts nearly 200,000 patients and performs surgery on over 8,000 patients, achieving a high patient satisfaction rate. Bed occupancy rate is always close to 100%. The demand for medical examination and treatment is increasing, leading to overload at times.

According to Professor, Dr. Pham Nhu Hiep, Director of Hue Central Hospital, Hue Central International Hospital 2 will be built at No. 3 Ngo Quyen, Vinh Ninh Ward, Hue City, with a total investment of nearly 300 billion dong for construction and nearly 100 billion dong for medical equipment, to be completed within 700 days. The project's investment scale includes a 6-storey building and 1 basement, with a total floor area of 21,000 m2, equipped with modern medical equipment. The project includes Hybrid operating rooms, artificial kidney systems, Full Automation laboratory systems, comprehensive imaging diagnosis systems, PACS, LIS, HIS... combined with synchronized technical infrastructure, capable of accommodating an additional 300 international standard beds (5 stars).

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Lien Huong highly appreciated the successful public investment model of the state in the healthcare sector. With its history and achievements, in the past time, the hospital has affirmed its brand in healthcare, serving as a center for advanced medical technology research, training, and transfer..., contributing to maintaining the trust of Vietnamese people in local healthcare services, without the need to go abroad for treatment. Hue Central Hospital consistently ranks among the top in terms of quality according to the evaluation results of 83 criteria of the Ministry of Health, with a green-clean-beautiful environment, having advantages to become a "Healthcare Tourism Center" meeting the needs of tourists choosing medical tourism.

To put the project into operation soon, the Deputy Minister of Health emphasized: "The leaders of Hue Central Hospital needs to closely follow up, promote the project's completion on schedule, ensuring quality and safety. During operation, it is recommended to optimize processes to create convenience and affirm the brand in medical examination and treatment."
