Experts presenting at the workshop

The workshop attracted more than 110 delegates, experts, managers, and stakeholders in the fields related to smart city management and climate change to attend.

At the workshop, experts shared contents on women, climate change, digital transformation of businesses and smart cities, such as: “The role of women in promoting digital transformation in start-up businesses in Thua Thien Hue province”; “The importance of the digital economy and the role of women in promoting the local digital economy”; “Gender impacts of climate change in urban areas and the role of women in adapting to climate change”; “Promoting the implementation of gender mainstreaming in climate policy from the practical activities of the Vietnam Women's Union”.

The workshop also included training on two specialized topics to improve the knowledge required to integrate gender considerations into smart city initiatives and climate change response efforts; practice a number of digital transformation implementation techniques to serve the development of personal brand, and business in digital environment and social networks for women.

The workshop aims to create a forum connecting experts, researchers, cadres, officials, entrepreneurs and social activists on the impacts of climate change in urban areas, the role of women in adapting to climate change, and learning about the status of empowerment and gender mainstreaming in climate change response. From there, it serves the development of personal brand, doing business on the digital environment, social networks for women, towards a more sustainable and equitable smart city development.

The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) is a German organization working with a mission to promote the values of freedom, the rule of law, and the market economy. In Vietnam, the FNF Office was established in 2012, conducting numerous studies, seminars, capacity-improving activities, and promoting academic exchanges between Vietnam and Germany.
