According to Mr. Hoang Phuoc Nhat, Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Tourism, among the approximately 65,000 visitors (from April 27 to May 1), there are 48,000 domestic visitors and 17,000 international visitors, with around 45,000 staying visitors (14,500 international visitors). The average hotel occupancy rate is estimated at 82 percent, and the revenue is estimated to reach 101 billion VND.
Accommodation registration data also reveals that room occupancy rates will reach over 90 percent on the peak day of April 28. Several hotels are reporting occupancy rates above 75 percent, including: Laguna Lang Co, Vinpearl Meliã Hue, Huong Giang, Cherish, Mondial Hue, Thanh Lich Boutique Hue, White Lotus, Êmm Hue, and Dat Anh, etc.
During the upcoming holiday, many special activities will take place in Thua Thien Hue such as the Hue Traditional Cuisine Week 2024 (taking place from April 27 to May 1), and the “Thuan An - Call of the Sea 2024” program (taking place on April 29), promising to bring exciting experience of traditional and contemporary culinary culture of Vietnam, a time to relax and "cool off" this summer to the locals and visitors.
In order to attract visitors, the provincial tourism sector and the business community have launched many tourism stimulus packages to welcome the summer in 2024, such as discounts on hotel rooms, tour prices, and prices of specialty products and souvenirs.
According to Ms. Duong Thi Cong Ly, Vice President of the Provincial Travel Association, a number of new tourism programs and products are also being put into trial operation during this period, including the city tour by public transport (including double-decker bus, bicycle, and boat), as well as experiences on street food and craft villages, etc.
