Chief of the Provincial People's Committee Office Tran Huu Thuy Giang, along with Director of Hue Monuments Conservation Center Hoang Viet Trung, Director of the Department of Tourism Nguyen Van Phuc, Director of the Provincial Department of Culture and Sports Phan Thanh Hai, and Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications Nguyen Huy Hien, chaired the conference.
Hue International Arts Festival Week 2024, held from June 7th to June 12th, featured 12 main programs, 24 artistic performances, and nearly 10 supporting activities. The event brought together almost 30 art troupes from Vietnam and abroad, offering audiences numerous artistic programs rich in the cultural essence of various regions worldwide. The festival attracted over 100,000 participants and over 50,000 simultaneous live stream views on the event's official Facebook Fanpage.
The statistics showed the Complex of Hue Monuments welcomed nearly 7,700 international visitors and 46,805 Vietnamese visitors, generating an estimated revenue of VND 8 billion. The total number of tourists to Thua Thien Hue during this period was approximately 101,000, with tourism service revenue reaching VND 159 billion. The number of overnight stays was estimated at 49,000 (with nearly 9,310 international guests), and the average hotel occupancy rate was 70%.
Additionally, over 320 journalists from 65 domestic and international news agencies and media outlets attended and covered the festival. The online coverage of “Hue International Arts Festival Week 2024”reached over 4,700 articles, significantly contributing to the domestic and international spreading of festival activities and cultural events, thereby attracting and engaging the public and tourists to Hue Festivals.
According to the Organizing Committee, large-scale activities, diverse participants, and continuous events in an open space faced unfavorable weather conditions, leading to some difficulties in organization. Some programs and activities have also encountered unexpected obstacles, and shortcomings are inevitable. The organizers thus expressed their hope for understanding and shared appreciation. They also extended their gratitude to the media for their active promotion of the festival, which played a crucial role in the success of the Hue Festival.
