These observations were highlighted at a seminar titled "The Historical Progression of Natural Disasters in Thua Thien Hue," organized by Thua Thien Hue Historical Science Association on August 16th. The event attracted a large number of experts and researchers for discussions and exchanges.
Today, climate change continues to exert significant influence on the economic and social development of nations worldwide, including Vietnam. The study of the historical progression of natural disasters in Thua Thien Hue aims to study the patterns and weather fluctuations over different periods. Additionally, it seeks to gain insights into the disaster prevention, rescue, relief, and recovery measures implemented by the state, social organizations, and communities throughout history. From these historical lessons, the goal is to propose practical solutions and recommendations to minimize the impact of future natural disasters in the region.
At the seminar, experts and researchers presented their studies and discussions on topics related to natural disasters, prevention measures, and adaptation models. Furthermore, the event covered issues related to flood relief and prevention regulations found in some village conventions within the province, as well as historical experiences in disaster rescue and relief efforts.
