This year, the Vallet Scholarship Fund has granted 209 scholarships to students in Thua Thien Hue Province, in which 148 scholarships were awarded to pupils and the remaining 61 scholarships were given to students. Each pupil scholarship is worth 15 million VND, and each student scholarship is worth 29 million VND. The total value is nearly 4 billion VND.

At the ceremony, Vice Chairman Phan Quy Phuong expressed his gratitude to Professor Odon Vallet, Professor Tran Thanh Van and Professor Le Kim Ngoc for their many years of accompanying, supporting and motivating students in the Province to strive on their learning path. On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Vallet Scholarship Fund, Mr. Phan Quy Phuong wished the Vallet Scholarship Fund to grow further, becoming a “bridge” to help students’ dreams come true, thereby working with local authorities at all levels and sectors to aid them on their learning path.

Mr. Phuong also expressed his hope that students receiving the Vallet Scholarship would continue to multiply meaningful and humane things, make greater efforts to achieve good academic results in training and studying, and develop into talented and virtuous people who can actively contribute to the development of their homeland and country.

Vallet Scholarship (formerly known as “Meeting Vietnam” Scholarship through the introduction of Professors Tran Thanh Van, Le Kim Ngoc - Meeting Vietnam Association) is sponsored by Professor Odon Vallet, Professor at Paris Sorbonne University - Republic of France. Operating continuously in Vietnam since 1999, the scholarship has awarded over 50,000 scholarships worth over 500 billion VND; helping many talented Vietnamese students and children of SOS Children’s Villages, ethnic minority students overcome difficulties to excel in their studies and lives.

In Thua Thien Hue, over 4,500 Vallet Scholarships with a total budget of 50 billion VND have been awarded to students with high academic achievements in the province. In addition, Professor Odon Vallet also grants scholarships to SOS Children’s Villages Hue, students of Hue Traditional Arts Schools as well as students from ethnic minority areas of Thua Thien Hue Province.

In addition to individual scholarships, the Science & Education Organization “Meeting Vietnam” also sponsors the construction of “on-demand” libraries - surmesure at Quoc Hoc Hue Gifted High School and Hai Ba Trung High School. After 18 years of implementation, “Vallet Library” has over 13,000 titles and 50,000 copies of books with a budget of over 3.5 billion VND.
