Viet PM, a company specializing in maintenance, repair, and operation services, was established by Gbike in Vietnam to support sustainable and eco-friendly tourism activities, with the aim of introducing smart mobility technology to support the project's vision.

At the meeting, Viet PM's Director Kim Tae Ho introduced Gbike.

Mr. Kim Tae Ho noted that Gbike is a leading Asian company providing personal mobility services with 110,000 electric bicycles and scooters in four countries: South Korea, the United States, Thailand, and Vietnam. In May 2023, Gbike introduced its GCOO electric bicycle to an investment delegation from Thua Thien Hue in Incheon, South Korea for the firrst time. In August of the same year, as part of the strategic vision for "Green Smart City Hue," Gbike proposed a project to build a green and smart city through personal mobility.

The project began in April this year at Gia Long Tomb and is currently being piloted with 20 bikes at the Hue Imperial Citadel.

Mr. Kim Tae Ho emphasized that the effectiveness of reducing greenhouse gas emissions through electric bicycles and scooters has been proven by global studies. He also highlighted the importance of promoting a green and smart lifestyle not only to tourists but also to the residents of Thua Thien Hue.

In the near future, Gbike's investment project is expected to include 300 GCOO electric bicycles as part of the "Clean & Green Smart City Hue" project.

Specifically, by the end of 2024, an additional 280 bicycles will be introduced and begin operations in the first quarter of 2025. Among these, 30 bicycles will be served at Thuong Thanh area (Le Huan - Dang Thai Than - Doan Thi Diem) to boost commercial activities for local residents.

Fifty bicycles will be used to connect existing heritage sites (Hue Imperial Citadel, Thien Mu Pagoda, Minh Mang Tomb…) with other tourist attractions (Nam Giao Esplanade, Ho Quyen Arena, Gia Long Tomb…), contributing to the development of the "smart and eco-friendly Hue tourism" product by analyzing collected tourism data.

Two hundred bicycles will be deployed in key areas of Hue city center to promote the "Clean & Green Smart City Hue" strategy.

The project promises to stimulate commercial activities in the city center by connecting various points within Hue, while also contributing to the restoration and enhancement of bicycle paths (Vo Nguyen Giap, To Huu…).

Chairman Nguyen Van Phuong acknowledged and highly appreciated the company's proposals, noting that Thua Thien Hue is currently investing in and gradually completing infrastructure dedicated to bicycles, thus the development of bicycles in Hue aligns with the province's policies.

Chairman Phuong also stressed that after completing the necessary procedures, there should be tangible products, and the province will fully support the project to create an effective ecosystem for the bicycle system.
