Hai Van Frontier Post was built during the Tran Dynasty and restored during the Nguyen Dynasty in the 7th year of Minh Mang reign (1826). The gate facing Thua Thien Palace has the three words "Hai Van Quan", and the gate facing Quang Nam has the words "Thien Ha De Nhat Hung Quan".
