“Honored student of the school” is a prestigious title, awarded to only one student from each school. This recognition aims to motivate, honor, and encourage a love of learning and excellence in learningwhile highlighting the educational achievements of the entire province, along with the dedication and effort of the administrative staff and teachers for their students.

In recognition of the students' efforts, based on the regulations for selecting “Honored students of the school”, on July 16th, 2024, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 1924/QD-UBND to award certificates to the “Honored students of the school” in Thua Thien Hue for the 2023-2024 academic year.

The Organizing Committee commended 384 outstanding students who received the title “Honored student of the school”, including 212 elementary students, 133 middle school students, and 39 high school students. These are exemplary students who were nominated by their classes and schools as the most outstanding honorees of their schools. Each student received a reward of 1 million VND and a traditional Hue-style Ao Dai costume set.

In his speech, Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Binh praised the achievements of the students over the past school year. “This achievement is not only a source of pride for the students themselves but also for their families, schools, and society as a whole. This honor should serve as motivation for the students to continue striving in their studies and training, to develop comprehensive skills and qualities, leverage their personal strengths, and become exemplary citizens who contribute to the development of the homeland,” said the Vice Chairman.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh emphasized that the provincial leaders would continue to direct the education sector to pay more attention to the province’s education mission, to always accompany and support students’ academic paths, and to further implement policies to consolidate and promote the province's reputation as a center of high-quality education and training in the region and the country. He called on all levels, sectors, families, and society to closely cooperate with schools and teachers to inspire a greater passion for learning in every student and to stand by them, listen, understand, and share, providing the best conditions for the students to develop their talents, nurture their dreams, and realize their noble ideals.

Director of the Department of Education and Training – Mr. Nguyen Tan shared that in the past school year, students in the province achieved many high awards in national and international competitions for excellent students, as well as in national science and technology contests.

The quality of general and specialized education was maintained, and the province continued to affirm its position in the top 10 for results in the national competition for excellent students, with 74 out of 93 students winning awards, reaching a rate of 79.6% (the national average was 55.79%). Seven students were selected for the international selection round, one of whom won a silver medal at the 35th International Biology Olympiad (IBO 2024). Another student reached the final round of the 24th season of “Road to Mount Olympia”.

The rate of students getting into universities and enrolling in 2023 remained among the highest in the country, at 67.01%, ranking fifth out of 63 provinces and cities. There were also excellent achievements in the fields of science and technology, innovative startup activities, national English-speaking contests, international letter writing competitions (UPU), as well as regional and national student competitions.
