Prof. Dr. Nguyen Vu Quoc Huy, Rector of Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, awarded Mai Dolch scholarships to students

In the academic year 2024 - 2025, through Hue Center for School Equipment Support and Humanitarian Education, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy has connected with the Mai Dolch Scholarship Fund to provide scholarships for students. Following the proposal for the implementation of the Mai Dolch Scholarship program for the academic year 2024 - 2025, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy issued announcement, received applications, and selected 200 students with difficult circumstances (poor households, near-poor households, orphans, disabled individuals, and ethnic minorities, etc.,) with the spirit of overcoming difficulties and striving to study, for nomination to receive the scholarships.

Each scholarship award is valued at 500 USD; of which, students receive 400 USD in cash and 100 USD allocated for organizing training to develop soft skills, entrepreneurship skills, and innovation skills for students. The total value of the Mai Dolch scholarship program for the academic year 2024 - 2025 is at 100,000 USD, equivalent to nearly 2.5 billion VND.

The Mai Dolch scholarship is the largest scholarship program, both in terms of the quantity and the amount of funding, which is implemented by Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy for students.

Mrs. Mai Dolch is a native of Thanh Hoa Province. She and her family emigrated to California, the USA in 1974. Despite being far from her homeland for many years, with a compassionate heart and love for her fellow countrymen, Mrs. Mai Dolch has saved and donated all of her and her husband's assets to support her homeland Vietnam, especially the central provinces. It is estimated that to date, over 100,000 people, including locals and students, have benefited from Mai Dolch's humanitarian and charitable programs.

In addition to the academic encouragement scholarship fund, sourced from tuition fees to award to students with good academic and training achievements (nearly 7 billion VND per semester), Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy always actively seeks and mobilizes other scholarship funding sources from domestic and international organizations and individuals to support students (approximately 700 scholarships per academic year, with a total value of about 7.5 billion VND). This activity significantly contributes to ensuring learning conditions for students in difficult circumstances.
