Vietnamese cuisine being introduced to Japanese culinary experts |
Japanese culinary culture is renowned not only for the meticulous and refined preparation and presentation of dishes but also for the quality, safety, and unique flavours that each dish provides. Japanese cuisine is distinguished by its simplicity in preparation while maintaining elegance, imbued with symbolic meaning and unique dining etiquette.
Vietnamese cuisine, meanwhile, is basically divided into three regions: North, Central, and South, each with its own distinctive flavours. Hue’s culinary heritage, in particular, preserves the refined, intricate values of both royal and folk cuisine as well as unique vegetarian dishes. The folk cuisine of Hue is more than just food; it reflects the lifestyle, emotions, and creativity of Hue's people through diverse cooking methods and unique ways of savoring each dish.
The Vietnam - Japan Traditional New Year Culinary Exchange brought together culinary experts from both countries to connect and share the essence of New Year food traditions from Hue, Vietnam, and Japan. It strengthened the longstanding friendship and cooperation between the two nations
Additionally, the program aimed to enhance the “Hue - The Culinary Capital of Vietnam” brand, supporting Hue’s goal to become a member of UNESCO Creative City Network in the field of culinary arts by 2025.
