The organizing committee awarding prizes to outstanding candidates

This was the information announced at the closing and awarding ceremony of 2024 Reading Culture Ambassador Contest and 2024 Online Book Introduction Contest by the representative of Thua Thien Hue General Library on the afternoon of November 15.

According to the organizing committee, the 2024 Reading Culture Ambassador Contest has many upgrades. In addition to 2 usual forms of register including articles or videos, contestants now can choose other formats such as writing plays, poems, short stories, comics, or write a sequel to the work, etc., in which, the content focuses on giving the message of spreading the love for book reading, waking up the responsibility towards themselves, families, society, national pride, and patriotism. Furthermore, the contestants are required to present action plans, as well as applied, practical, and effective initiatives that have the potential to be scaled up and help to spread and develop reading culture in the community.

The organizing committee awarded 3 first prizes, 6 second prizes, 9 third prizes, and 15 consolation prizes. Besides that, the committee also presented collective prizes to Nguyen Chi Dieu secondary school for their highest number of participants and Da Le primary school for their highest number of high-ranking winners. Additionally, 6 best entries were selected to the national final round. As a result, two contestants won 3 individual prizes, including 1 third prize, 1 consolation prize, and 1 special prize for the most voted video.

Meanwhile, the Online Book Introduction Contest attracted 265 entries from 56 secondary and high schools across the province. With the theme “Hue - Convergence and Development”, contestants expressed their love for culture, heritage, Hue people, and greater gratitude for the values of the ancient capital’s heritage and Hue cultural identity. In the framework of the contest, the schools with a high number of participants and quality entries include Bui Thi Xuan high school, Nguyen Hue high school, Quoc Hoc high school for the gifted, Phan Dang Luu high school, Dang Huy Tru high school, Chu Van An secondary school, Nguyen Chi Dieu secondary school, and Phu Bai secondary school.

At the conclusion of the contest, there were 68,729 views and 28,828 likes during the voting period. The organizers awarded 2 first prizes, 4 second prizes, 8 third prizes, and 30 consolation prizes to outstanding individuals. Additionally, collective prizes were given to Bui Thi Xuan high school for having the highest number of quality video entries, and Chu Van An secondary school for having the most students with high-ranking awards. Two contestants, Ho Dang Uyen Phuong from Chu Van An secondary school and Hoang Ngoc Kha Tu from Nguyen Hue high school were awarded the popular voted prizes.
