Mr. Nguyen Tan, Director of the Department of Education and Training presenting the “Outstanding Teacher” titles

This event is an opportunity for teachers and educational administrators across generations in the province to look back on and take pride in the noble teaching profession.

During the seminar, Mr. Nguyen Tan shared that the education sector of Thua Thien Hue has brought to an end the 2023-2024 school year and began preparations for the 2024-2025 school year amidst a mix of opportunities and challenges. By upholding the region’s tradition of diligence, dedication to learning, and academic excellence - particularly its strong tradition of teaching and learning excellence - the education sector has achieved significant milestones.

At present, the school network and infrastructure are steadily aligning with planned objectives, effectively meeting the learning needs of students from preschool to high school, vocational training, university, and postgraduate levels. Among the province's 569 schools, 75% meet national standards, and 95% of the education workforce has met qualification standards as outlined in the 2019 Education Law.

Achievements in both high-level accomplishments and broad-based comprehensive education have been consistently enhanced, with improvements recorded year over year. Many indicators rank among the top five nationwide, including university entrance exam results, international academic competition achievements, and leading performances in intellectual competitions such as Road to Mount Olympia.

The accomplishments of 2024 and of the past years have become a source of inspiration for the entire education sector to promote the achievements further.

Mr. Tan emphasized, “Thua Thien Hue is standing at the threshold of becoming a centrally-governed city. I hope that our educators will continue to innovate, focusing on key tasks such as training and developing a well-rounded teaching workforce with both talent and moral integrity. This will meet the demands of education development in the integration era. Additionally, we must prioritize enhancing school infrastructure, fostering holistic student development, and striking a balance between quality advancement and sustainable growth. Narrowing quality disparities across different areas of the city will also help establish Hue as an ‘educational city’ in harmony with its heritage city status”.

On this occasion, the DoET awarded the title of Outstanding Teacher for the 16th time in 2023, as conferred by the President of the nation, to 12 exemplary teachers.
