Doctors from the Central Dermatology Hospital examined a patient with psoriasis after the opening ceremony |
On average each year, the Provincial Dermatology Hospital examines and treats approximately 350 outpatients and 60 inpatients with psoriasis, with over 1,500 visits for examination and treatment. The number of patients has tended to increase in recent years.
The opening of the specialized psoriasis clinic will significantly enhance the ability to provide intensive and comprehensive care. This will improve the quality of examination, treatment, consultation and health education for patients.
Psoriasis is a chronic skin disease that significantly impacts the quality of life of patients. As there is currently no complete cure, but only way to manage the disease; so, psoriasis management plays a crucial role in the treatment strategy. According to the plan, in 2024, the Central Dermatology Hospital, along with provinces, will establish approximately 20 specialized psoriasis clinics. Hue Dermatology Hospital is the 15th facility to implement this plan.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Huu Doanh, Director of the Central Dermatology Hospital, Head of the Dermatology Division at Hanoi Medical University, stated that before, during, and after the opening of specialized psoriasis clinics at the facilities, the Central Dermatology Hospital will plan to conduct specialized training, provide sample medical records, support examination and treatment techniques; especially, difficult cases will be consulted on clinical symptoms, pathology and other necessary tests if needed.
