This event, organized by the Vietnam Film Development Association, took place on the same day in Ninh Binh.

The PAI Index, which was first launched in November 2023, is designed to assess the attractiveness of different localities to film crews. The primary goal of the PAI is to evaluate and enhance the appeal of various regions in Vietnam for film production. Through the PAI, the Vietnam Film Development Association desires to explore the strengths of the Vietnamese film industry and introduce to the world the beauty as well as the stories deep within the country's borders.

The PAI Index serves not only as an evaluation metric but also as a bridge connecting film industry and localities, facilitating the exploration and promotion of untapped potential.

Phu Yen Province topped the PAI Index in 2024. Following closely were cities and provinces namely Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Thua Thien Hue, Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, Ninh Binh, and others.

According to Mr. Phan Thanh Hai, Director of the Provincial Department of Culture and Sports, in recent years, Hue Ancient Capital has truly become an attractive film set, chosen by many domestic and international film crews.

Film crews coming to Hue are always provided with the most favorable conditions for their operations by the provincial leaders, local authorities, and relevant departments.

Famous movies, which have chosen Hue as their settings, are “Trang noi day gieng” (“Moon at the Bottom of the Well”), “Co gai tren song” (“The Girl on the River”), “Mat biec” (“Blue Eyes”), “Gai gia lam chieu 5” (“Camellia Sisters 5”), “Em va Trinh” (“Trinh and I”), “Kieu”,… and most recently, “Linh mieu” (“Spirit Whisker”).

“These film crews have significantly contributed to promoting Hue, making it more famous and beloved by friends and visitors...,” Mr. Hai stated after the locality was ranked in the top 10 localities leading the PAI Index in 2024.
