Additionally, there are over 90 scientific sessions held across 7 different conference halls, along with exhibition areas, and open discussion forums. More than 300 presentations, representing various formats, were delivered by 250 leading experts, including 40 international speakers. The conference focuses on several key topics in cardiology, such as coronary interventions, congenital heart diseases, echocardiography – diagnostic imaging, arrhythmias, hypertension, atherosclerosis, heart failure, and cardiac nursing.
As part of the congress, there will be open medical training courses (training village), a novel approach to updating knowledge for members. There is also a Young Cardiologist Science Award for English-language presentations aimed at recognizing and encouraging emerging cardiology talents.
Previously on December 13, a pre-conference session was held to consolidate the organizational structure of the Executive Committee of Vietnam Cardiology Association for the 2024-2026 term.
Scientific reports draw significant attention from doctors and experts |
According to statistics, Vietnam records approximately 200,000 deaths annually due to cardiovascular diseases, accounting for 33% of total deaths. The prevalence of hypertension among adults stands at approximately 25%, meaning 1 in 4 people is affected. Alarmingly, cardiovascular diseases are increasingly affecting younger individuals.
This conference has attracted extensive participation from international experts and experienced scientists, providing updates on recommendations for chronic coronary syndrome, issuing a 2024 consensus on hypertension (HTN), releasing two related agreements on home blood pressure monitoring and gestational hypertension, and updating four 2024 guidelines from the European Society of Cardiology (on coronary artery disease, HTN, atrial fibrillation, and cardiomyopathies) and the 2004 ESH guidelines on HTN. The discussions emphasized the importance of establishing a highly interactive, multi-tiered cardiovascular care network, centered around key cardiovascular centers nationwide, including numerous satellite hospitals, cardiology departments, and an extensive primary cardiovascular healthcare system within local communities.
This is also an opportunity for doctors and leading international experts to exchange knowledge and practical experience to provide the best care for cardiovascular patients.
