At the meeting, Mr. Naoki Kakioka, Vice Chief representative of JICA Vietnam office informed of the results of the meetings working with related departments and sectors on the implementation progress of prioritized projects on “Vietnam’s solid waste” funded by JICA. Mr. Naoki Kakioka said the projects had overall ensured the implementation progress. It is expected to complete the project in Thua Thien Hue by March 2018; and after the project completion, JICA will release a report, establish a handbook and transfer the solid waste management devices for the province to deploy and implement other projects in the coming time.

Deputy Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Phuong said thanks and highly appreciated JICA’s concern and support in Thua thien Hue’s project on urban solid waste management. This is a great opportunity for the province to carry out a good management of solid waste and to apply Japanese advance technologies in solid waste treatment. Based on the results of the implemented projects, Thua Thien Hue province will develop its own project to continue with the effects of the solid waste management projects sponsored by JICA. Deputy Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee also wanted JICA to consider further supporting the province in developing and implementing the project on solid waste management all over the province.
