The talks were attended by Mr. Le Truong Luu, Member of Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Van Cao, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and leaders of relevant departments and branches of the province. The delegation of Sekong province was headed by Mr. Khamphoi Butdavieng, Member of Party Central Committee of Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Secretary and Governor of Sekong province.

At the talks, the leaders of the two provinces signed the MoU on various fields; stepping up cooperation in economics, education, health, culture, border trade; effectively deploying a model of village-village twinning relations in border areas of the two provinces; assisting local enterprises in trade promotion activities…

Up to now, Thua Thien Hue has supported 110 Lao students from Sekong province to study at local colleges and universities (granted 10 full scholarships annually to Sekong students); funded more than VND 7.3 billion to build Xeron bridge; supported more than VND 1.3 billion to build a primary school and 7 houses in Se Sap, Kalum district; supported nearly VND 200 million to relocate, build  new houses and install fresh water system for residents in A Roc – Ireo village, Kalum district, Sekong province.
