Since the night of September 29, the Western Quarter consisting of Pham Ngu Lao – Chu Van An – Vo Thi Sau street has officially become the pedestrian quarter on the weekend
Pedestrian streets in the Western Quarter with the total length of over 1km, consisting of 3 routes: Pham Ngu Lao – Chu Van An – Vo Thi Sau will operate from 18:00 to 2:00 am (on Fridays, Saturdays) and from 18:00 to 24:00 (Sunday nights). During the operative time of the pedestrian quarter, all vehicles are banned to circulate there.
The pedestrian quarter is inaugurated to create an attractive tourist destination, contributing to the promotion of the country and Hue people to international travellers. At the same times, it boosts the business of tourism and leisure services, contributing to economic development.
According to the plan, by 2018, this pedestrian route will be connected with many parks in the south bank of the Perfume River through Le Loi Street, to Nguyen Dinh Chieu pedestrian street, and Trang Tien Bridge will be reserved for pedestrians to exploit the parks in the north bank of the Perfume River and Dong Ba Market.
After the inauguration ceremony, tourists as well as local people can enjoy the entertainment space with many kinds of bars, shops, street bands, etc.
