According to the rankings, Hanoi National University is ranked 139th; Ho Chi Minh National University is ranked 142nd; Hanoi University of Technology is in the group of 291st-300th; Can Tho University is in the group of 301st-350th and Hue University is in the group of 351st-400th.
The rankings are based on many criteria such as academic reputation based on the global survey; evaluation from the employers; number of research papers/lecturer and citations/research, based on Scopus, the world's largest abstract and citation database; student–faculty ratio; the proportion of lecturers with doctoral degrees; international faculty ratio, etc. In the rankings, the leading position belongs to Singapore's Nanyang Technological University.
