The meeting embraced the participation of notable representatives from various relevant central and provincial bodies, including Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) and Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF).

The religion-based organization officially attained its legal status in 2016, under the umbrella of VUSTA, yet recently celebrated the inauguration in September 2017.
As soon as being formed, HLC achieved a substantial grant from the two prestige international non-governmental organizations Norwegian Church Aid and Bread for the World (Germany) for the project "Strengthening the Faith-based Organization’s community responses to Climate Change” lasting from 2017 to 2019.
The project, with four concrete goals and diverse activities, are deployed in Thua Thien Hue province, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong and Hanoi cities, with the cooperation between HLC with its local partners in each locality.

HLC’s Director Venerable Thich Phuoc Dien said what the centre is working on has contributed to carrying out the Collaboration Program to protect environment and cope with climate change signed by the Vietnamese Fatherland Front, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and religious organizations in Hue city in 2015.
In the years to come, HLC will try its best to achieve its vision of bringing in a sustainable well-being and development for the people, he noted.
In 2018, the centre sets its focus on not only effectively implementing the current project but also on getting more funding for more projects in terms of social work, environmental protection, sustainable use of natural resources and healthcare for their target groups.
