Ms. Naomi Amke, Project Director in Vietnam exchanging experiences at the conference
From March 2015 to March 2018, the project has driven its intervention to 15 districts of Thua Thien Hue, Quang Tri and Quang Binh provinces, distributing and boosting efficiency of reproductive health care for the communities, especially for women in remote and disadvantaged areas.
Specifically, the project has trained 60 trainers to set up women health care models and more than 253 midwives at grassroots level on counseling and reproductive healthcare skills for women, and organized educational consultation for nearly 2,500 women to improve reproductive health knowledge. At the same time, it has deployed dozens of medical campaigns to 56 communes to deliver essential medical services for more than 8,020 women in need.
At the conference, representatives from local authorities proposed that VAM and JOICFP sustain their coordination, experience sharing, and replication of the reproductive health counseling and service models throughout the country in the coming time.
