According to Mr. SHIBASAKI Eji, senior advisor of JICA volunteer program, in the framework of Vietnam – Japan cooperation program, JICA Vietnam office will officially appoint 60 volunteers to work in Vietnam, including two volunteers who will work in Thua Thien Hue in the fields of education and tourism for 2 years.
Basing on the great relationship between the two countries, Mr. SHIBASAKI Eji believed that the volunteers will make positive contributions to Thua Thien Hue in the fields of education and tourism. He also expressed his desire that the provincial leaders and departments will support and help the volunteers to fulfill their missions.

At the working meeting, Deputy Permanent Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Ngoc Tho asserted the good traditional relationship between Vietnam – Japan in general and between Thua Thien Hue and Japan’s localities and organizations in particular. In recent years, Hue has received great supports from Japan in many fields such as ODA capital for infrastructure development, human resources training, researching, heritage restoration and cultural exchange activities.
Since 2000, there have been 36 Japanese volunteers coming to Hue to work and being highly appreciated by the provincial leaders. The Deputy Permanent Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee welcomes the volunteers coming to Hue and promises to support the volunteers who work in the two-year term in Hue.
