Lao overseas students in traditional costumes

Bunpimay Festival usually takes place from April 14-16 annually according to the Buddhist calendar. The Festival aims to bring freshness and prosperity to the universe, and well-being as well as purification of human life.

The ceremony was warm, formal with the traditional rituals of Bunpimay. The attending Lao overseas students and delegates practiced rituals such as prayer for luck, water splashing and thread tying, which symbolize well-being, prosperity, good health and good luck. After the ceremony, an entertainment program performed by Lao overseas students, Hue University students and provincial border guards.

"Lao Bunpimay is a long-standing traditional festival reflecting the passionate unity of Lao tribes. This time, the students who have studied in the beautiful Hue City have celebrated a warm Bunpimay in the Laos-Vietnam friendship," Mr In tha – Vong pha chan shared.

On this occasion, 58 Lao overseas students was honored to receive certificates of merit from the Embassy of the Lao People's Democratic Republic and two Lao overseas students were granted certificates of merit by Hue University.
