This is the first time this activity has been held in Hue University. The contest attracted the participation of 15 groups with a total of 73 students from seven member universities to create solutions on paper. These solutions can be developed afterwards or even incubated for implementation in real life after the contest.

The contest includes six themes: education, tourism, environment friendly products, local resource exploitation; products, services and applications related to clean food; urban transportation. Contestant groups will choose and work on one of the themes offered by the organization board and work together for 12 hours to complete their contest task.

The groups have 12 hours to plan ideas and complete their contest task

The criteria of “Business Innovation Hackathon” for five finalists include: innovation and creativity, marketability, business model replication skills, simpleness, challenges, capital demand, teamwork and presentation skills.

Assoc. Prof . Dr. Huynh Van Chuong – Vice Director of Hue University stated: “The contest takes place for a short time, so it calls for quick, keen ideas which offer optimal solutions. This is a chance for students to promote their multidisciplinary advantages because each group is a gathering of students from many different universities.”
