Speaking at the seminar, Assoc. Prof. Hoang Van Hien, Rector of Hue University of Sciences emphasized: "In fact, though historical literary works have developed over the past years and had worthy contributions, it is estimated that research in this field as a whole has not kept up with the practice of composing. Many scientific issues are left open or quite controversial.”
"The seminar is a need for both scientific community as well as professionals and academics to speak up their voice on these issues, in relation to their roles and responsibilities, correct directions in composition, the teaching of history from high school to higher education, etc.," said Prof. Hien.
Participating writers, lecturers and researchers discussed the process of formation and development of historical novels, fictionality and creative freedom in historical novels; limitations of debates related to historical literary works.
