The goals of this plan are to assist province-based enterprises and manufacturing facilities of specialty products in expanding their markets and consumption linkages as well as advertising the product trademarks to domestic and overseas business partners and customers. The plan also aims to set up sustainable commodity production and supply linkages for the development of the local economy and social security guarantee.

The plan is also orientated to diversifying fine art handicraft products to be sold as souvenirs and gifts to tourists. This is to make contribution to the restoration and development of local fine art handicrafts, traditional handicrafts and Hue specialty products to be used as souvenirs and gifts as well as to promote the national target program on building new countrysides .

According to its 2018 plan, the Province will implement the making  and development of the “Identity Code of Hue Specialty Products” , with priority on such products as peanut and sesame candies, fermented shrimps, fish sauce, cajeput  essential oils, ginger sweatmeat, bun bo Hue, products made from figs, lotus seeds, centella tea, thanh tra pomelo fruit, and radu rice, etc.
