In the plan to develop tourism products in 2018, the Department of Tourism plans to develop spiritual products. Hue is well-known for its advantages, being a Buddhist land with hundreds of pagodas and many fine traditions related to Buddhism.
The tour operators discuss the organization of the activities on spiritual tourism with the representatives of the pagodas
According to Mr Nguyen Van Phuc, Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism, tour operators have organized tours related to spiritual tourism, vegetarian food, zen, etc. for a long time. However, these tours are still in small size, not being systematic, and their routes are unsuitable. Prior to this survey, the Department of Tourism had an exchanged with the provincial Buddhist Sangha of Vietnam and some pagodas to welcome tourists and organize some activities related to spiritual tourism. It is hoped that, after the survey, the tour operators can build appropriate tours, basing on the comments of the pagodas.
According to the plan, after the two-week survey, the Department of Tourism will announce a number of tours that the tour operators have planned. Since then, the appropriate tours will be chosen to promote exploiting in the coming time.
