Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Ngoc Tho discussing with the media about support policies for enterprises
Enterprises want to contribute more
At the meeting, many business owners and investors applauded and appreciated the meeting with the Provincial People's Committee and said that this was an opportunity for the enterprises to contribute, share, and raise their voices. Ms. Nguyen Lan Vi, General Director of VKSTAR Joint Stock Company, famous for Hue Ao dai Fashion show, says that she is a Hue local but lives far away, and now that she has returned to Hue, she has the wish to contribute to Hue and would want the provincial government to give support in terms of show venue and linking businesses to develop Hue’s traditional ao dai.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Ngoc Tho applauded Ms Nguyen Lan Vi’s business plan. "I went to Hoi An and saw that they had tailoring businesses that sold fabric and made ao dai for visitors in one day. If they can do it, why can’t we? This is a concern of mine, especially when Hue is the cradle of the traditional ao dai. I have asked the departments to research and find a Hue cultural space for the company to showcase, display and tailor ao dai for visitors” - said Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. He also called for businesses, especially businesses headed by women to network with Ms. Lan Vi.
Having the same concern about the venues for showcasing traditional craft products, some enterprises said that the province should prioritize resources for this problem. Mr. Phan Ngoc Tho said that the province was coordinating display booths for traditional craft products in supermarkets, introducing product identification criteria, and building a supply chain. However, that is not enough.
"The province currently has a 30ha site in Minh Mang Street (Thuy Xuan Ward, Hue City) to build a traditional village with tourism services. I formally call on businesses to invest here. The province will invest about 30 billion VND to clear the ground, support enterprises to invest and will have incentives for investors" - said Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Ngoc Tho.
Relating to some new tourism models and responding to the call for investment made by Mr. Tran Quang Hao, Director of Huetourist, and some other enterprises, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that every year the province issued the list of calls for investment. However, due to objective reasons, these lists had not yet reached the enterprises. In the coming time, the province would focus on reviewing, supplementing and implementing mechanisms and policies to support investors and enterprises; including improving the business environment, improving infrastructure in key areas to call for investment.
Businessman Nguyen Van Loc - Director of Quoc Trung Livestock Company wanted provincial leaders to pay more attention to the field of agricultural and rural development and create more opportunities for land-fund and capital loan for his company to develop production in Quang Dien. Businessmen Le Van Truong of A Dong Tourist Company, and Nguyen Van Tai of Dong Tam Construction Company expressed the wish that the province should have open policies on attracting investment, creating favorable conditions for enterprises to fulfill their tax obligation, for increasing land lease time; and, amend some laws to suit the enterprises.

They wished to participate and accompany the government in the process of carrying out local activities to create a common voice between enterprises and the government in the process of development to build a strong province corresponding to its potential and strength.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that any issues outside the authority of the province would be proposed to the Government and the National Assembly so that mechanisms and policies accompanying enterprises would soon be implemented.
As the head of the provincial government, Mr Phan Ngoc Tho made a statement to commit to innovation, creating breakthroughs in management and development; facilitating transparency; and building legal and planning institutions.
