Speaking at the meeting with the representatives of departments, branches and localities on building smart city on August 27th, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Phan Ngoc Tho emphasized that the viewpoints and objectives of building smart city of the province are take people as the center of the course, build the government to serve, and develop smart city services on the basis of e-government.

The Chairman of the provincial People's Committee asked the concerned agencies to focus on completing the e-government of the province; to fully implement 15 tasks in the project, ensuring the schedule and plan, and to complete the forming of specific mechanisms and policies in order to attract socialized resources to the development of smart city services. A number of other tasks to be focused on is build and promulgate specific mechanisms and policies for civil servants and officials operating the Smart City Monitoring and Control Center and the regulations on the operation of the center according to the highest information security regime, taking criterion of completing e-government as the basis for the development of smart city services. In particular, the five fields in the project need to be focused on include health, education, tourism, transportation and environment.

Currently, the Department of Information and Communication is testing and operating some contents of the project; and the relevant agencies are finishing the coordination mechanism as well as legal documents.
