Representatives of the Zeng weaving cooperatives in A Luoi receive threads

Accordingly, in this phase, Coats Phong Phu Co. Ltd., gave 500kg of threads to help the cooperatives preserve and develop the traditional craft of Zeng weaving. It is expected that within one year, the program will support 6 tons of threads, helping the cooperatives with free input. The value of granted threads is at VND 135,000 per kg.

According to CPED, it has cooperated with the social enterprise Fashion 4 Freedom, co-founded by Ms. Lanvy Nguyen and Ms. Victoria Ho, to organize the program. Ms. Victoria Ho is currently pursuing a doctoral dissertation on Vietnamese artisans and traditional crafts, including Thua Thien Hue province.

The products made of granted threads in the two previous phases

In the process of diversifying product models, and improving the quality of traditional handicraft products, including the Zeng weaving, Ms. Lanvy Nguyen and Ms. Victoria Ho have responded that the quality and designs of the products would have great impacts on the marketing and market expansion.

Thus, via the CPED, they had introduced Coats Phong Phu Co. Ltd., so as to solve the issue of high quality and prestige thread resources in the international market. Soon after that, this company accepted to grant threads for free. Some products have been successfully woven and very beautiful. Moreover, CPED said that it would connect and support the output for those products in the coming time.

On this occasion, the sponsor unit also came to a number of Zeng weaving cooperatives in A Luoi area to explore the weaving stages and completed products.
