In a study of 70 patients with chronic pancreatitis, the team compared the results between EndoUltraSonography images with clinical and biochemical features, abdominal ultrasound and CT scan images. Among these, they can detect pancreatic stones by EndoUltraSonography at the rate of 80.8%, while ultrasonography was 50.6%, CT scan was 69.8%.
The results of the study were highly appreciated by members of the panel for their novelty, contribution to medicine, economic benefits and to the patients. EndoUltraSonography in the diagnosis of chronic pancreatitis is reliable and highly appreciated when applied for the first time at the Center of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Hue University Hospital. Budget for implementation of the research was invested by the provincial People's Committee.
