Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Phan Ngoc Tho gives a speech at the working session
On the basis of arranging and consolidating Le Ba Dang and Diem Phung Thi Art Centers, Hue Museum of Fine Arts has three exhibition spaces, including exhibition space of fine arts works, Le Ba Dang art exhibition space, and Diem Phung Thi art exhibition space.
Up to now, the Provincial Department of Culture and Sports has collected 25 fine arts works, planned to receive from 30 to 40 fine arts works given by Vietnam Fine Arts Association, and consulted the Provincial People's Committee to select a number of valuable sculptures, and Champa objects to display in Hue Museum of Fine Arts.
Speaking at the working session, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Ngoc Tho emphasized the need to establish Hue Museum of Fine Arts. It is important to find a formal location and space of the museum, which is commensurate with the status of a cultural center; displayed fine arts works must also be plentiful, diverse and valuable. The Provincial Department of Culture and Sports should prepare plans to display fine arts works luxuriously, and promote the works’ values. At the same time, it is important to promote its roles in encouraging artists and families of artists to donate their fine arts works to the museum; make plans to preserve and ensure the safety of the works; train and foster the staffs, etc.
Regarding the collection of fine arts works, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee asked the Arts Council to promote its roles, set the criteria for artists and fine arts works, with the focus on collecting the works of famous artists. In 2019, the Provincial People's Committee will allocate VND 3 billion to continue purchasing fine arts works.
