Ground breaking to set to work on the construction of the Obstetrics-Gynecology Center

The Obstetrics-Gynecology Center is built on the precinct of the hospital. The construction scale includes 1 basement, 6 floors with the total gross floor area of 20,000 m2 taking in the green grass and parking lot system. The center has 300 standard boarding sick-beds, 6 modern operation rooms and the system of specialized and synchronous medical equipment.

The project of constructing the Obstetrics-Gynecology Center is approved by the Ministry of Health and deployed by the state budget (140 billion VND), as well as the socialization sources and the non-productive development fund of the hospital (160 billion VND).

After 710 days of construction, the Obstetrics-Gynecology Center will bring in a new appearance for the hospital, ensuring synchronous infrastructure for a modern hospital, meeting the need of high-quality medical examination, contributing to reducing the overloading and serving the high-quality demands of mothers and infants.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Tien stressed: “The investment for the project of constructing Obstetrics-Gynecology Center is a huge effort of the Party and the State in protecting and caring for people’s health. It is necessary for the hospital to manage and guide the project management board as well as the contractors to hasten the construction process so that the work can come into operation effectively”

The minister highly appreciated the hospital’s achievements in the work of caring, treating and applying high technology, at the same time, she requested that the entire infrastructure of the hospital needed to be restructured soon, ensuring the infrastructure for a leading general hospital in special category with the scale of 3,939 sick-beds, developing in compliance with the model of multi-specialized centers with international brand.

Cutting the ribbon to inaugurate the Pediatric Oncology Department and Marrow Transplant Unit

On the same day, the hospital also inaugurated the Pediatric Oncology Department and Marrow Transplant Unit after 1 year of construction. With the total investment of 15 billion VND sponsored by The Ministry of Health and Japanese sponsors, the Pediatric Oncology Department and Marrow Transplant Unit is built on the area of 1,400 m2 including 10 adequate facilities inpatient rooms, 1 standard modern marrow transplant room, etc., ensuring to serve 70 pediatric patients per day.
