The opening ceremony

Eleven pairs of professional athletes and more than 250 amateur athletes from 24 groups across the country took part in the competition. The athletes competed in 5 Latin rhythm categories: Samba, Cha-cha-cha, Rumba, Paso doble, and Jive and 5 Standard categories: Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot, and Quickstep. The categories were divided into 7 levels at 10 age ranges including children, youth and middle-aged according to the criteria of the World Sports Federation.

On the host side, Thua Thien Hue had 126 athletes (10 professional athletes) from the Provincial Sports Center, Hue Talent center and dance clubs including Trieu Tan, Binh Minh, Ngu Vien Xanh, and Star Hue.

Mr. Nguyen Long Quoc - Chairman of Hue Talent Center – a co-organizer shared: "Although it is the first time such a competition takes place in Hue, it has attracted quite a lot of athletes. The competition witnesses the participation of many high-class dance pairs, creating conditions for movement athletes in general to have more opportunities to learn and improve their techniques. From the success of the competition, we will aim at organizing it annually, on the one hand, to improve the qualifications for athletes, and on the other hand, contribute to spreading this artistic sport ".
