At the meeting, Vice Chairman Nguyen Dung thanked and appreciated Mr. Christian Berger's contributions in to promoting the cooperation between Germany and Vietnam in general and Thua Thien Hue province in particular. Mr. Nguyen Dung especially thanked and appreciated the positive and effective activities of the Ambassador himself and the German Embassy in Vietnam to support the preservation and restoration of Hue heritages; mine clearance, community development, environmental protection and response to climate change in Thua Thien Hue province; together with advanced support projects on education and training, intensive health at Hue University and Hue Hospital of University of Medicine and Pharmacy, etc.

Mr. Christian Berger thanked the leaders of Thua Thien Hue province for supporting and helping him fulfill his mission in Vietnam. Simultaneously, he emphasized that the projects that have been implemented in Thua Thien Hue have contributed to strengthening the strategic cooperation relationship between Germany and Vietnam.

Mr. Christian Berger also promised to discuss with his successor to promote the implementation of ongoing cooperation projects in Thua Thien Hue as well as call on German businesses to continue to explore and invest in new projects in Vietnam in general and in Thua Thien Hue province in particular.

During this visit to Hue, together with the courtesy visit to the leaders of Thua Thien Hue province after ending his term in Vietnam, Ambassador Christian Berger would attend the opening ceremony of the photo exhibition at Hue Cultural Museum (23-25 ​​Le Loi, Hue city) on the morning of June 25 organized by Goethe Institute and the Vietnam - Germany Friendship Association in Thua Thien Hue province; visited and gave certificates to trainees completing the training on techniques of conservation and restoration of the Gate and Screen of Phung Tien Temple (Hue Citadel) at Hue Monuments Conservation Center.
