This night market will be held on the 16th day of each lunar month, even in rainy season.
The night market is arranged around Thanh Toan Tiled Roof Bridge with many intriguing activities such as gastronomy market, Bai Choi (cards are played along with traditional songs in the huts), folk games, display of the living activities and agricultural production; visiting the traditional farm tools house, etc.
Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc, Deputy Director of Thua Thien Hue Tourism Department said: “The night market at Thanh Toan Tiled roof Bridge is an event jointly implemented by the local community and enterprises with the support of the authorities at all levels. Thanh Toan Tiled Roof Bridge is so far a tourist attraction during the day, but there are no activities in the evening. The deployment of the activities and services in the evening is the orientation of Thua Thien Hue tourism industry with the aim of meeting the needs of the tourists.
Being a unique bridge across the ditch running from the head to the end of Thanh Toan village, Thanh Toan Tiled Roof Bridge is categorized into the rare type and has the highest artistic value of all kinds of ancient bridges in Vietnam. This architectural monument is very worthy in terms of history and culture, and it is also an attractive landscape to both domestic and international tourists.
