It’s a nearly 2ha wide lake planted with white lotus cloned from Hue Imperial Citadel. This is a precious kind of lotus grown in the ancient Nguyen Dynasty hundreds of years ago.
The owner of this lotus lake - Ms. Nguyen Thi Hue said: “I have nurtured cultivating white lotus for a long time. Then when Hue Monuments Conservation Center agreed to have these two precious lotus varieties from Gia Long tomb and the Citadel multiplied, I planted them in the heart of the ancient Phuoc Phuoc village, a famous tourist destination of Hue, to develop Hue Lotus brand with its inherent meaning ”
To fully enjoy the beauty of the white lotus in summer in Phuoc Tich ancient village, you have to get up early and go to the lake in the early morning. At that time, the lotus will slowly bloom to reveal the stigma and give off the delicate scent. In the early sunlight, the white lotus blooms all over the lake, standing out against the green leaves, creating such a picturesque scenery that makes visitors feel fluttering.
