Caring for patients at Stroke Center, Hue Central Hospital

According to information from the website https://www.angels-initiative.com/angels-awards/wso-award-winners, Hue Central Hospital is one of the three domestic hospitals that has just achieved the Platinum Status of Angels Awards for the quality of stroke care of World Stroke Organization.

Accordingly, Hue Central Hospital has surpassed the Gold Status and achieved the Platinum Status according to the World Stroke Organization standard in stroke emergency care and treatment.

This is a prestigious award of the World Stroke Organization for Stroke Units and Stroke Center that meet the rigorous criteria, including: the ability to train people, diagnostic equipment, and stroke emergency care and cooperation with other providers of stroke healthcare.

The assessment process was conducted by the national competent agency and the two international agencies. The committee of World Stroke Organization will come up with final decision.

At Hue Central Hospital, the Stroke Center was established in 2017. The center has modern equipment and highly qualified human resources, quickly acquiring advanced medical techniques.

Each year, over 2,500 patients are admitted. The Center has fully performed the function and role of a stroke emergency care unit, with comprehensive treatment of stroke and active stroke resuscitation. In 2019, the center successfully resuscitated over 200 cases of severe and very severe strokes.

Many difficult techniques in this area have also been successfully implemented and achieved good results by the Stroke Center, such as: intervention of carotid-cavernous Fistulas, cerebral vessel deformities, intervention of thrombo-embolism, treatment for various types of aneurysms ...

According to Prof. Pham Nhu Hiep, Director of Hue Central Hospital, The Stroke Center continued to seek the Diamond Status of Angels Awards of the World Stroke Organization in stroke emergency care and treatment, maintaining and improving the quality of treatment for patients with stroke. This would contribute to building and developing the hospital,  making it an intensive medical center, a center of high-quality training for healthcare professions, being able to meet international standards.
