People coming back from endemic area are tested with quick tests and their samples are collected

Previously, there was information that after rapid blood tests, there were 16 cases positive for SARS-CoV-2, waiting for PCR test.

Leaders of the Provincial People's Committee Office affirmed that, many cases returning from the endemic area, or having history of exposure to F1 were tested quickly and 16 people tested were positive for SARS-CoV-2 virus. However, by the afternoon of the same day, all of these samples were PCR negative.

Currently, these 16 cases have been isolated and continued to be monitored, ready for follow-up PCR tests. Authorities tracked down those involved with these 16 cases, and took their samples for PCR testing.

“The PCR test results would be the final conclusion. As before that, there were some quick test cases that gave positive results 3 times; however, after PCR tests, they were all negative. Particularly for positive cases (if any), they will be published by the Ministry of Health in the daily news, even the Provincial Steering Committee could not make the announcement,” said a member of the Provincial Steering Committee for Prevention and Control of Covid-19.

Currently, authorities are continuing to trace and notify people who have been to the locations that the three patients had passed by, such as the wedding party on July 23 at the Hoa Hong Wedding Restaurant (176 Nguyen Chi Thanh street, Hue city); Mat Biec coffee shop, on the afternoon of July 23 (68 Bao Vinh, Huong Vinh ward, Huong Tra town) ... to report and get quick tests for SARS-CoV-2.
