Assoc. Prof., Dr. Luong Ngoc Khue, Head of the Ministry of Health’s Department of Medical Examination and Treatment, Deputy Director of the project Telehealth chaired at the bridgehead of Ministry of Health; and the bridgehead of Hue Central Hospital has the participation of Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Phan Ngoc Tho.

Prof. Dr. Pham Nhu Hiep, Director of Hue Central Hospital said that the opening and operation of the Center of Remote Consultation and Medical Treatment is the result of the closely direction of Ministry of Health leaders at all level, as well as the support of the Provincial People’s Committee and relative authorities of Thua Thien Hue.

In the framework of the COVID-19 pandemic, putting the Center of Remote Consultation and Medical Treatment into operation is the way that Hue Central Hospital implements the mission of directly bringing high-quality medical services to patients through lower-level hospitals. At the same time, it also supports training lower-level hospitals under the specific and efficient hand-on model.

During the COVID-19, Telehealth is one of the important solutions in pandemic prevention. Furthermore, it contributes to the successful implementation of the National Digital Transformation Project to 2025 with the vision to 2030 of the Prime Minister, heading to the vision of becoming a stable and prosperous digital country, developing a widespread, safe, and humanistic digital environment.

“The opening and operation of the Center of Consultation and Medical Treatment of Hue Central Hospital is an important factor contributing to helping Thua Thien Hue and the Government implement the goals of smart urbanization and heading to the goal of Thua Thien Hue including working without paper, decentralized meeting, noncash payment, and non-contact administrative procedure solving,” emphasized Chairman Phan Ngoc Tho.

After the opening ceremony, Hue Central Hospital and the bridgeheads hold a consultation for 7 serious and complicated cases which are under the treatment at Ha Tinh City General Hospital, Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Hospital (Quang Binh), Quang Tri General Hospital, Quang Ngai Provincial General Hospital, and Ky Anh Town General Hospital.
