As many roads in localities are flooded, boats are used to provide food to the locals

Chairman of Hue City People's Committee, Mr. Hoang Hai Minh said that in order to ensure the safety of the people, the city directed the localities not to let the people, who had moved to the safe place, to return to their homes in low-lying areas as the water levels of the rivers were rising again; and to regularly monitor weather changes, water levels of the rivers, lakes, and low-lying areas to continue the relocation and support for the people.

The city has deployed the work of reserving food early, with more than 12,000 boxes of instant noodles, and 55 tons of rice, etc., continued to mobilize socialized resources and contribution, packaged thousands of presents including loaves, sausages, milk, bottled water, and necessities to promptly supply to the people in low-lying areas in case of prolonged floods and being isolated; and it had also supported people suffering from flood with more than 100 cases via hotline.

According to Mr. Hoang Hai Minh, the city is now focusing on the priority to respond to the next flood and storm; continuing to implement the motto of "five on-the-spot", including "self-management on-the-spot" in case the areas are divided, promoting the proactive of localities; and focusing on helping the subjects such as pregnant women, children, the elderly, and the sick, etc.

In the face of complicated developments of the weather and rising flood water, the city has set up two working groups (the areas in the North and the South of the Huong River) to direct the work and respond to the disaster following the assignment of the Head of the City’s Commanding Committee of Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, Search and Rescue; direct units and Ward People's Committees to review and check equipment for natural disaster prevention and control, search and rescue; as well as increasing the reserve of materials to serve the rescue of people in at-risk and hard-hit areas in a prolonged time.
